A panel of six monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) directed against three structural proteins of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), the peplomer (S), membrane (M) and nucleocapsid (N) proteins were produced and characterized. One MAb (1H8) was directed against an epitope on the S1 subunit of the peplomer , two MAbs (5H1 and 1B4) against an epitope on the M protein and three MAbs (1H6, 2B10 and 2E9) were directed against an epitopes on the N protein. Only one MAb was able to neutralize infectivity and inhibit haemagglutinaion of the homologous virus.
